Resource / Capacity
How much space?
A practical reference for choosing capacity. Numbers are approximate — actual usable space is slightly lower after formatting.
01 — The numbers
Pick by payload.
Start with what you're loading: a PDF catalogue, a photo set, a video or a software build. Then add headroom for future updates.
| Capacity | Text | Photos | Songs |
|---|---|---|---|
| 512 MB | 9,600 pages | 320 photos | 100 songs |
| 1 GB | 20,000 pages | 640 photos | 175 songs |
| 2 GB | 40,000 pages | 1,200 photos | 350 songs |
| 4 GB | 80,000 pages | 2,400 photos | 750 songs |
| 8 GB | 160,000 pages | 4,800 photos | 1,500 songs |
| 16 GB | 320,000 pages | 9,600 photos | 3,000 songs |
| 32 GB | 640,000 pages | 19,200 photos | 6,000 songs |
| 64 GB | 1.28M pages | 38,400 photos | 12,000 songs |
| 128 GB | 2.56M pages | 76,800 photos | 24,000 songs |
| 256 GB | 5.12M pages | 153,600 photos | 48,000 songs |
Reference assumes ~500 KB per photo and ~4 MB per song. Video and software builds need more space — send us the payload and we'll size it.
Don't fill it to the edge
Leave 10–15% headroom so the drive stays fast and has room for future files.
Match the port
USB 2.0 is fine for documents; USB 3.0 is worth it for video, software and large photo sets.
Preload if you like
We can duplicate and verify your files before packing — ask for data loading on the quote.
Capacity
Ready when you are.
Tell us what you're loading and how many drives you need. We'll recommend the smallest capacity that still feels generous.
